I am a CherryPal Angel, and like others of my ilk, I am the proud owner of a nonworking CherryPal Desktop that the “computer firm” has utterly failed to support. The company hasn’t managed to adequately roll out its maiden model, has left paying customers in the lurch and an army of frusted brand angels cursing, yet here it is rolling out and taking orders for a new netbook model.
12:09 p.m. my CherryPal arrived. I know this because I was about to drive away (to the mall, God help me), when the UPS man offered to hand the package directly to me through the car window rather than leave it at my door.
Two of my kids have noticed the box sitting in my inbox. “The CherryPal [finally, for the love of God] came?”
The box is about the size of a cell phone box. It ships at 1lbs. Maybe that’s where the CherryPal will make its margins: savings in packaging and shipping.
I will open and try it out once I move the children to higher ground and remove all sharp objects from the house.
CherryPal - A cloud-based computer for $249. The CherryPal is a device used to connect users to a cloud. In the fifteen minutes since I first heard about CherryPal, here’s what I’ve found out: The initial review that I read claims that the device is rather slow, but it appears there is room for improvement. The device runs a triple-core, 400MHz Freescale processor with 256MB of memory and an 8GB solid state drive. Also included in the 10oz, 1.3″ high x 5.8″ long x 4.2″ wide box is 802.11b/g WiFi, 10/100 ethernet, audio out, VGA out, and (only) two USB ports. brianmadden, December 12, 2008

UPDATE, 12/12/08: My Little CherryPal appears to be in transit. No word since its departure from San Pablo, CA at 1:49 A.M. That was nearly two days ago? Where are thou, Little CherryPal?
That was quick.
I heard from CherryPal just a few hours after emailing my letter of interest in.
Hi Cathy,
I Want To Be A CherryPal Brand Angel
Here’s my pitch to CherryPal. I send this email to them yesterday afternoon.
Dear CherryPal,
Writers/Bloggers/Students Wanted for GREEN PC Marketing
Scanning craigslist for freelance writing and market research jobs Tuesday, I came across an ad for writers/bloggers/students for a green PC marketing initiative.
